Diablo 4 Runes and Runewords Guide
Diablo 4 runes socket into gear as a pair: a ritual rune sets the trigger, an invocation rune sets the skill that fires. There is no Diablo 2 runeword word list. Players still search 'runewords' for this system.
Open the socket on a piece that has rune slots and place one ritual rune and one invocation rune. The pair is the whole effect. A single rune does not make a word.
A Season 15 Blessed Hammer Paladin example is Cem + Que for Earthen Bulwark, and Igni + Mot for Dark Shroud. Those are survivability triggers, not damage words.
Legendary runes drop more often as Torment rises. Torment V is the tier where legendary rune odds step up, and that tier requires Lord of Hatred.
The Horadric Cube, added with Lord of Hatred, is where spare runes get combined. Use the recipe list on the cube in-game. Recipe costs move between patches.
The loot filter does not replace reading rune drops. Pick them up, then decide at the cube whether the pair matches the build.

FAQ
Are there runewords in Diablo 4?
Not in the Diablo 2 sense. You socket a ritual rune and an invocation rune. That pair is what people mean by a Diablo 4 runeword.
Where do Diablo 4 runes drop?
Throughout endgame. Higher Torment, especially Torment V and up, improves legendary rune odds.
