Diablo 4 Leveling Guide: 1 to 70
The Diablo 4 level cap is 70. Level on Normal or Hard, move to Expert after the prologue and Penitent after the campaign, and stop respeccing once one spender is killing packs.
One clear of the campaign unlocks Skip Campaign for later characters, Seasonal or Eternal. Use the skip when you already know the build and want the Pit.
Put the first points into a generator and one area spender. Add a movement skill before a second spender. Paladin stays on Disciple Blessed Hammer. Warlock stays on one Hellfire or Abyss skill until Soul Shards open at the Ked Bardu quest.
Expert requires the prologue. Penitent requires the base campaign. Torment I is not a leveling difficulty. It opens at level 70 after Pit tier 10.
Replace weapons when they add a skill rank you use. An empty legendary slot is worse than a plain weapon with the right rank.
Class routes: Paladin build, Warlock leveling, Sorcerer leveling, Necromancer build.

FAQ
What is the fastest way to level in Diablo 4?
Skip the campaign if it is already cleared, stay on one spender, and raise difficulty only when packs still die in a single cast rotation.
Does Seasonal leveling differ from Eternal?
The level cap and difficulty gates match. Seasonal characters start at level 1 and do not inherit Eternal gear.
